From time to time we are asked if we are accredited by one of the regional accrediting associations in the USA. Our school trains teachers to teach overseas in countries where English is not the first language.
Sunbridge does not operate in the USA although, in addition to the Province of Ontario, Canada, we are registered in the State of Delaware. Teachers in the USA take our courses as part of their five-year skills upgrading program and we have had many American students take our courses. As we do not operate in the USA, and as our students teach abroad, there is no need nor benefit to us or our students to have specific USA accreditation. Accreditation by the International Guild of Colleges and Universities better serves the direction and purpose of our courses and students.
Accreditation of higher education schools and institutes in the USA is a voluntary process, the main purpose of which, as I understand it, is to enable such schools to qualify for government funding.
