Sunbridge Institute of English
"Training enthusiastic people to teach overseas since 1998"
Sunbridge has been training enthusiastic ESL teachers for schools around the world for sixteen years Sunbridge Institute of English began in 1998 to provide training in teaching English as a Second or Foreign Language for native English speaking people interested in teaching overseas (in countries where English is not the first language). Our original TESOL course is still the most popular one. It has been welcomed by new teachers eager to learn the ins and outs of teaching ESL. It provides a solid foundation in teaching methodologies upon which they can add experiential learning. Our certificate is accepted by schools around the world. We receive gratifying comments from experienced teachers and education ministries about the depth of the course. It has been accepted by universities for up to six credits towards graduate level degree programs of study. In response to demand, we have since added teacher training courses in teaching English as a foreign language teaching (TEFL), young learners (TEYL), teaching adults (TEFLA) and teaching Business English (TBE).
Dr. Robert W. Taylor, who has many years experience teaching English and other subjects in Canada and Thailand, from Kindergarten to Senior Management, founded Sunbridge in 1998 and was instrumental in developing their teacher training courses. Prof. Sue Addenbrooke provided valuable comments and editing advice for the TEYL course. Dr. Taylor co-authored a new text "TESOL Made Easy" with Dr. Jerry Loving of Queens University at Brighton, California Campus.
