Teaching Business English
requires excellent knowledge of English grammar, Idioms and Expressions
and is best supplemented with actual business experience. Your students
will be either learning at the university level in preparation for a
business career or actual business people who need to upgrade their
English skills for the business they are in.
There are many reasons why business people need to learn English.
1. First and foremost, English is the main language of international business communications.
2. People in business
need to communicate with employers, superiors, international
departments, home office executives from another country, suppliers in
another country and overseas customers.
3. People need to
know how to speak correctly on the telephone, write business letters,
memos, faxes, emails, reports, summaries, invitations, responses,
enquiries, notices, submissions, requests, rebuttals and complaints.
4. People need to
know the language of meetings: preparation, equipment, presentation
style, charts and graphs, introductions, flow, closing, summarizing, and
answering questions.
5. They need to learn the differences in English between formal and informal speech, writing, and the language of negotiating.
These are what you, as a Business English teacher, will be responsible for teaching them and our Certificate Course in Teaching Business English (TBE) will prepare you to do just that. Good Busines English teachers are in demand in many countries.
TBE is a three-month, 120
hour course of study with a value of three (3) credits. It is taught
through an online, downloadable text and has four assignments.

If you want to teach Business English at the
college/university level or work in the very lucrative field of
business training and development overseas, this is definitely the course you should take.
Though it is not a prerequisite, we also recommend taking our TEFLA course (Teaching English as a Foreign Language to Adults).
TEFLA is an insightful course designed to help you to understand how
adults learn and why teaching them is so different from teaching
children. It is a completely different course from TBE.
Register today for both courses and save $50 on course fees. Taken together, the combined tuition is $700. This tuition saving may be discontinued at any time.
