Course Rationale and Outline
Adults learn differently from children. They often have very specific reasons for learning English and a teacher needs to both understand that and know how to incorporate those reasons into his or her lessons planning.
Learning Outcomes
At the end of this course, the student will have learned why teaching adults is so different from teaching children.
The student will have learned how teach the essentials to adults, teaching idioms, expressions and how to use music and art as teaching aids.
The student will have a good understanding of a good understanding of many forms of ESP (English for Special Purposes), TOEFL and TOEIC so s/he will be confident in teaching each of these specialized English courses.
The student will have substantially increased his or her knowledge in effectively using CALL (Computer-assisted Language Learning) and WALL (Web-assisted Language Learning) with adults.
