Course Rationale and Outline
As a teacher progresses, s/he will encounter opportunities to take a leadership role, whether as department head, carriculum developer, administrator or school princilpal. THis course will help to develop the skills needed to effectively undertake such an important role.
Learning Outcomes
At the end of this course, the student will have a better understanding of the need for leadership in classrooms and schools
The student will have a good understanding of the types of problems school leaders encounter and solutions to those problems.
The student will be better able to offer advice when sought and therefore put him/herself in a position to accept a leadership role.
